After copying a couple of DVD's using the Nero 6 DVD copy method, I noticed that my free space went from 12 gigs to 3. I checked for the Nero images but none were found. How do I regain my lost free space?

I would bet a dime to a dollar that you have a program saving all those deleted files. The two most common are your recycle bin is not empty, or you have Norton Disk protector or a similar program installed. With disk protectors, files will not show up when you search for them, but the space they occupied on the hard drive is not released when you delete the file. This will allow a recover of the file.
Try to empty your recycle bin and purge the cache of any disk protectors."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."
