It was hard to say exactly what I wanted to do in the few words allowed in the subject line, so let me make it more clear. I've captured some TV shows with my Sony digital video camera acting as a dv bridge. The captured files are 720x480 DV .avi files. I converted them to divx with virtualdub so I can watch them on my comp later. Here's what I want to do. As the files are now, when you open them in any media player, they open in a 720x480 window. What I want to do is actually make the files so they open in a 480x320 window, but the actual resolution of the video is still 720x480, therefore giving it a sharp and clear image. How do I do this, and can it be done in virtualdub? If not, what program should I use?

The only way you could do it is if you specify to play at 50% in the individual player. There is no need to do that though. Resize using TMPGEnc and at the same bitrate.
    If in doubt, Google it.
