Using new version of DVD Shrink & CopytoDVD Have had no problems with any other movies not playing the audio. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so is there a solution?
Thank you.

hi there i had a similar problem with LION KING SPECIAL EDITION i used dvd shrink to extract the movie only which it did but with no sound i never properly found out why, but i found out that the disc contains 2 versions of the film and the only way i could get it to work was by shrinking the whole disc including both film versions i dont know if your film is the same because i do not own it. 8)

there are 4 different versions on the lion king 1.5 - I guess I need to figure out which one is correct

The problem is with the audio channels. I had the same issues with Lion King - Special Edition. You can't compress the entire movie due to the games built into the disc which can't be compressed and leave you with a very poor quality movie.
I can't remember the specific audio chaneel but I believe it was 2 Channel Audio, rip the disc, edit it and leave out the 2 Channel audio and that shold solve your problem. -
Just copy the main movie! no extras! not even the hidden mickeys!(Unknown Subpicture)

Sorry no deals- I always do movie only copies and there is no audio, I tried all four different movie tracks.
Maybe the problem is that there are no 2 channel audio tracks only 5.1 ac3 and dts or something to that effect.
I am sure another program can do the job - just not dvd shrink. -
Just backed-up Lion King 1.5 using DVD Shrink.
When setting up in shrink there was no audio in preview.
However I backed up in usual way & hey presto audio is all present & correct on back-up.
No idea why this problem occured !!! -

I tried to burn Lion King 1 1/2 but did not success with DVDXpress, Clone DVD1.3 or DVD Decrypter .. all of them was failed when it reach to 85%.
I returned the disk to the store and get another one to replace. And I reburn it to have back up for my kids, but now it only can reach to 89% and fail. Anyone can burn it please let me know. Do they do something different so you can not do a back up disk ? -
I wound up using Decrypter and then ran it thru Shrink and chose title # 40 which was 1 of the 4 main movie choices and it did burn so good luck to ya

Problem Solved
OK... many of you say there is 'no audio' when infact there is audio! When you ripped the movie (DVDShrink) you probably kept the AC3 audio format and also the DTS audio format. For me, initially I had 'no audio'... or atleast thats what I thought! Put your burned copy in ur DVD standalone player... it seems as though by default or by direction of the IFO for this title it defaulted to DTS audio, but when switched to 6CH. AC3.... Bammmm, sound!
So I went back, ripped the movie again...
1. Using DVDshrink... Open Disc > Main Movie Titles> Re-Author>
2. I chose movie title #40
3. Unselect any and all DTS Audio
4. click backup... and back up!
This will eliminate the DTS Audio leaving only 6ch. AC3 audio... leaving the DVD standalone player to only play the AC3, success!
