I just got a Philips DVD727 and would like to know if anyone knows how
to get rid of the timer when playing MPEG1/2. There doesn't seem to be any documentation regarding this. It appears in the upper left hand corner
of the picture, and can be either time elapsed or time remaining.
The user guide only speaks to it playing "jpeg" and "mp3" from CDs, and doesn't address "mpg" (MPEG1/2 ISO)
I'd really like to get rid of that pesky timer (but there is no mention of it in the user guide).
Any ideas???

I contacted Philips - they said there is no way to eliminate the on-screen timer for MPEG1/2 ISO (unauthored) CDs.
