  1. Is it possible to create a setup file that conatins ALL the hotfixes and updates and installs them in one shot.

For example, I install a fresh copy of XP and then I click on this setup file and it installs everything automatically, I reboot and my computer is updated. Also can it be possible to add hotfixes/updates to this "setup" as they are released?

    Go here: http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstream_02.htm

I did it and it should take you about 30 minutes to finish

  3. Thanks for the info but I do not want to make a slipstreamed CD. I probably didn't explain myself cleary.

For example. I want to make a steup file with ONLY the hotfixes and updates - and be able to update with new hotfixes as they are released - so when I reformat I do not have to sit and download all the update again. I will need to install these on several computers and if I sit and download ALL the updates from the begininning for each one, I go insane.

So after I reformat all I want to do is click on this ONE file and it will install all the updates for me at one shot.

Download them all, burn to CDR.
The better answer has already been given, slipstream them all into the XP setup disk, then they're already in place during the install.

Download all of them from the link above and then create a simple batch file for the install...

  7. If you read that entire "How-to" it tells you exactly how to do that, specifically Step 6 thru 10. You take the standard XP disk, install SP1 into that disk, download all the patches from Windows update site, hotfixes too. Then your done. I use one disk to install the entire updated SP1 XP on all the computers I build, Takes normal install time, Then when you go to update there will only be a couple new updates. They come out with new ones every week almost.
