I am somewhat new to this so take it easy. I am capturing a video from my tivo. In order to get the video to the computer I bough a wireless audio/video sender and reciever combo that works on 2.4 gighertz. That gets the signal to the computer room where I channel the signal via rca jacks to my Sony Trv33 camera. Then the video being digitized, into the computer by firewire. I captured in Nero Vision Express at dv1, and mpeg2 on different occasions. The files were huge and probably overkill because the source isn't 720x480, it is more like 480x480. So I tried to capture using half dv1 for smaller file size. My finished product looked good and played on the computer but when I put it in my stand alone sony slvd300p player it would display the main menu and allow me click a chapter but not play the main movie. Is it the player not recognizing the file capture at half dv1? One other thing, should I capture as avi or mpeg to edit commercials. That render time takes for ever from avi.
