  1. When will the big boys of the electronic world come out and produce a divx dvd player? Will we even see this day, or will they just keep me waiting on the edge of my seat?

I would rather buy a player from a lesser name than those makers, their dvd players tend to not play homemade dvd/cd`s.

Microsoft Corporation did. Well, they produced the xbox, which can be easily modded to play divx files.

Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

I don't care if they never do. Divx quality is no better than SVCD.

come out and produce a divx dvd player?
The day AVI DivX becomes standardized. As it is, there simply are too many variables to play with (when producing a DivX based AVI) to make it possible to produce a player that can handle all variations. Small companies don't have a reputation to defend, so it doesn't matter to them if their player only plays 50% of all possible DivX AVI's - Sony would be sued instantly! (Not to mention that they'd rather invent their own format...)

Oh really! Have you ever made one or just going by what you've downloaded?
