I installed WMP 9 and want rid of this turkey. I can't find a way to unistall.
There's un-install file and Control Panel doen't list it. I tried to install WMP 7 but I keep getting a message I can't install an older version.

  2. Bst way to get rid of it....

    Get rid of WindowsME

Or just the delete the registry entries, then the actual file folder it's in. I have XP, but WinME should be in Program files under Windows Media Player.

  3. I think when I updated to WMP9 I clicked "OK" to a popup telling me I could not uninstall it, but I might be wrong.....

I like WMP9 and do not have any trouble with it. I downloaded and installed TweakMP from the microsoft site, adjusted a few settings, and now have the best WMP I've ever had. No problems with it at all.

What trouble are you having? Maybe it's just a couple setting that needs changed...

You can associate your media files to a different player and bypass WMP if you want. That's easy to do.

    Good luck.

Either roll you computer back to a date that was before you had it OR better you download Media Player Classic and assisiate all you media files with it instead.

I think I've done this before for some reason, probably a problem or some kind of bug. I did use to have WinME and I think this was done on Win2000.

You can uninstall WMP9 and what happens is the older version is there, the original OS version remains.

This would apply on Win98, WinME, Win2000 and as well as WinXP too.

You can go in Windows Media Player folder in Program Files and find setup_wm.exe and you should be able to uninstall it.
