  1. Hi All-

I am just looking for a way to put regular data (files) on a DVD that is also able to play in standalone DVD players as well as on the computer. The data does not need to be accessible from the dvd menu, just accessible through explorer or the like. They will be pdf files and maybe some HTML. Any ideas, please let me know.

Author your dvd video to a video_ts folder, then burn with any of these tools https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?howtoselect=3;25#3;25
and add the data files to a new folder(don't put any data files in the video_ts or audio_ts folders)

  3. I can just make that video_ts file in something like dvdstudiopro and instead of burning, just export that file? also, what about audio, i know there is an audio_ts file.... does that need to be there too in order for there to be sound?

assuming i can make the video_ts file, then all i need to do is put that directory under the root directory and any other folders i want to under the root as well?

Baldrick was talking about folders, not files Greg. Use whatever you wish to make your IFO, BUP and VOB files (some will create VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders) and then add these to a compilation in your burning software. At the same level, add another folder (DATA or something like that) and in here put all the fles you wish to access using your DVD-ROM.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. Right, so to verify, i would author the dvd, export it as the file structure, then in addition to putting those directories on the disk, create another directory in which to house the data files.
