    Hi!

I am trying to backup a flipper dvd (A time to kill) onto one one dvd-r. Half the movie is on one side and half on the other. How do I decrypt the two sides. Do i decrypt to one folder or two. How would i join them so that DVDShrink recognizes it and lets me compress it. Both the sides are around 3.5GB.

    Thanks in advance!

The following is what I use but u'll loose the menu's

Use DVD decrypter to rip 1st side of movie to HD.

Use DVD Shrink, and open 2nd side of DVD using open disk.

Use re-author option in DVD Shrink.

Open a second (another) session of DVD Shrink, open the 1st side from HD using using open files

Move the 1st side of the movie to the re-author screen (drag and drop), then move the movie from the DVD (2nd side) and let DVD Shrink do its thing. Make sure the order is correct else u end up with the order of the sides mixed up.

Since its a flipper u pretty well have to copy one side to a storage device first. If its on two diff disk's like LOTR movies u can use a same method or u can forego the decryter stage if u have multiple DVD drives but thats another whole story. The above is using one DVD device.

  3. I seem to recall there being a guide somewhere on the left saying how to achieve this using free tools, it might be worth checking those out (this topic was covered a couple of weeks back, so a forum search might pay off).

Alternatively, if you've got DVD2ONE, that has a JOIN function in it that works rather well in my experience.

Yeah i did one with DVD2ONE also.
Used seamless join and i did not notice where the 2 halves of the movie were joined.
    Good stuff.

    "Err no...."

    Hi!

Thanks for the replys. I will give them a shot and let you know. the problem I know i will have is that i can't use dvdshrink2.3 to open the files directly off my dvd drive. It always hangs up my whole computer and i have to reboot. I have tried everything. I will try to do this by using the new version of dvdshrink.

    thanks!
