  1. I know it is possible to convert WMV video to .AVI (MPEG4 mencoder) with ffmpegX, but then you get no sound. How is it possible to convert both the video and the audio track from the WMV video file into for example a QuickTime format?

Can Mplayer for OS X play your files?

If so, let me know and I will tell you how... Otherwise you might be stuck.

what I do: use ffmpegx to create my video by making an avi.
Then play the original source WMV and "hijack" the audio
using Audio Hijack or AHPro, as an AIFF 44.1khz 2 ch stereo.

Open the AIFF in QT PRO.
Open the AVI in QT PRO.

    Select the video, copy.
Select the audio, add scaled the video to the audio.

save as QT self contained movie.

  7. D-Vision 2 is using MPEG4 (mencoder) too, just as ffmpegX does. That's why it works with D-Vision 2 too

Using SnapzPro 2 is not an option for me with my iMac 500MHz G3

ZeroSix, mplayer for OS X can play my WMV files without a single problem.
