Hi there,
I downloaded dvdlab and trying to author my movies. I am completely new to this dvdlab. I have several movies and i would like to import and edit and then burn them. In other words those movies are from a tape and they should be attached together in authoring procedure.
I imported two movies 10 min each to dvdlab along with the associated audio then i made the movie 1, menu 1, scenes for movie 1 and the links between them as well as Movie 2 and menu 2, but when i try to make the scene for movie 2 it makes another scene for movie 1 and besides I can't make the links for movie 2 as well as the links between movie 1 and movie 2.
I would appreciate any help please.

Hi davoud,
when opening the "open scene selection" in the middle of the popup a "movie" window will apear, there you must choose the wanted movie, that's it.

hi Spak and oldfart13,
That's fine spak, actually i tried this dvdlab even though it has good features but I did not find it a user friendly program as it takes the user with the flow of the logics of the program (when you compare it to WMP which is free or sony vegas 4 you can see the difference, but unfortunately WMP can not make dvd movies). Also if you have already made a project with it, it overwrites the next project on the previous project and when you want to burn it, if there is a written dvd in your DVDBurner it overwrites it as well whithout any warning(well at least this happened to me and I am not sure if it does it really or not as I am not a professional user of DVDLab).
and yes oldfart13 I have tried TMPGEnc and actually I have it now but it dose not have editing features, i am looking for a program like Sony vegas 4 which is a very comprehensive program but unfortunately the trial version of it, does not let you save or burn! and I do not have any comments on the final sony vegas 4 project. I have used nero ultra 6 too but again it does not have editing capabailities other than some cutting stuff which are limited. I wanted to download the trial version of the Adobe Encore DVD but I noticed that it is almost like DVDLab, I mean you have to go through the logics of the program and I don't like it.
Well what else you could recommed. Thanks

I use Womble Mpeg Video Wizard to do my edits and save without re-encoding. I load that file into DVD Author. I burn the result with Stomp or Nero. Nothing simpler...
Now...if you want complicated stuff like in Vegas 4, I can't help you. Those programs were meant for professional DVD applications and are just too hard to use for the average person. I never did use them... -
Hi Davoud,
I'm personally quite happy with it.
1. You have to save your work as a project (save file as *.dal-file). with a specific name
2. Yoa are free to choose the place and folder where to save your VIDEO_TS.
3. Adobe Encore is very complicated.

well, vegas 4 is not hard to use at all and it has an interface almost like WMM and you can easily drag and drop your movies and edit them very easily but anyway the problem with the trial version of vegas 4 is that it does not let you save or burn as i mentioned before. I found it very easy to use and very comprehensive program comparing other softwares(those that I have tried) besides as i remember it lets you to do whole thing in just one package (from capture to edit and burn).
Anyways I used this dvdlab but unfortunately at the end of compiling a 1.5 hour movie my computer crashed and i got a stop X0000000A message, asking to remove any hardware software that I recently have installed or contact the manufacturer to get the updated driver, then I had to reboot and after that I got a message saying your computer has been recovered from a seriuos problem. That's why I uninstalled dvdlab because the crash happened while it was doing a project and I don't know if this has happened to anyone else.
I put another message to see if that has happened to anyone else?
thanks for you two and I will take a look at the mpeg video wizard but i am really tired of trying different softwares. It is almost three weeks that I am tring to get the best one (trial one) to burn my movies to dvd but unfortunetly i could not find a good one sofar. The only one as I mentioned is the Sony vegas 4. and I can't use it and don't have the budjet to buy it. I guess i have to stick to WMM which is a good program and free and burn my movies to CD as VCD.
cheers for both of youThanks
