I recently purchased a "Emprex" dual 4x dvd burner. I used dvd x copy software to backup copies of my favorite movies. Everything that I burn on my computer will not play in my home dvd player - a Panasonic RV-32K, but will play on my computer and in my laptop. I know for a fact that my home dvd player will play burned dvds because I've played several burned by a friend. What could be the problem?
When I place a dvd in my home player that I burned - it gives me the message that the machine can't read the disc.

Probably the type of media you are using.
Try RitekG04 or Fuji (made in Japan)
I use RitekG04, I read somewhere that the Fuji discs are good too...I don't know that for fact, Ritek works perfect for me and if it's not broke, I don't fix it.
You might also check to make sure your DVD player will play DVD-R or DVD+R, which ever you are trying to play...the others may have been different.
