  1. Hi,
I captured a TV show on my PC using WinDVD Recorder. I used Womble to edit the file and to cut out the commercials.
That is when I got my Sync problem. I assume that this is a beginner's error, but since it was my first time that is probably no surprised.
Can anybody tell me where my mistake was.

    Thanx for any advice.

  2. Struppi,

I doubt it is a "beginner's error", there are a lot of posts in the forum about audio out of sync problems. I have been researching this with PowerVCR (Cyberlink) and have no experience with WinDVD, but if you get a chance I wonder if you could do the following:

Go to the Womble tools section and de-multiplex the original one hour recording ( if you don't have it just record another one) but make sure it has not been edited before with anything and that it is about an hour long. The demux will create 2 files an mpv and an mpa. Now close the demux and go back to the tools section and choose multiplex and mux the two files you just created back into a new mpg file. Play the new mpg file and see if the sound is in sync especially near the end. If it is not in sync then the source file does not have an audio and video stream of the same length. This is the problem we are working around with PowerVCR. If it is still in sync then the sync problems are being introduced somewhere else. I would appreciate knowing the results of your test, thanks.

  3. Thanks for the advice and suggestions. I will try that on the weekend and let you know. In case my post won't be there anymore I will open a new one.

If the sync is fine with the original recording, you should be able to edit out the commercials just fine if you use Womble Mpeg Video Wizard. I use it all the time to take the commercials out of the recordings I make with my Panasonic DVD recorder. Never had a sync problem at all...
