I have a PAL DivX movie that I want to convert to NTSC DVD. I know the quality isn't that great but I want to watch it on the TV instead of the PC. The problem is in the framerate conversion from 25fps to 29.97fps. I'm getting either jerky video where every 6th frame is a repeat of the previous or the length of the movie is changed. I did some conversions from VHS a while back whereas the extra needed frames were a blurred combination of the frame before and the frame after. That looks OK but I can't seem to figure out how with this one.
I usually use TMPGEnc to convert to .mpg sound and all. I don't need AC3 sound as mp2 works OK for me. I'm pretty sure AVISynth will do what I need but so far I'm lost trying to understand AVISynth. Can someone give me some specific instructions on using AVISynth just for framerate conversion or suggest another program?
