  1. Hi
I want to create a menu on a svcd that link to differents chapters. I try to do it using Nero 5.5 and it works but it is somehow limited in sense that it only allow you to but text at the top bottom and for each thumbnails. The size and the number of thumbnails is aslo resticted.
I also try it with VCDEasy but it seem that the only feature that there is, is to put a chapters entry point and put a still mpg for a menu. But is doesn't seem to have a tool that actually help me CREATE the menu put text in different police on different plate on a background image and place some still pictures took in every mpg that i will use to do chapters.

Is there a software that can help me to create some good looking menu by taking a screen shot of every chapters ?

You have create all of the menus yourself. You can use any photo editor, even microsoft paint will work. Just take screenshots and import them, use imagery available on the internet, basically do whatever you want. Save them as bmps and use VCDEasy to encode them into mpeg stills. Then use them to author your menus.

Remeber thou that x(S)VCDs do not support true menus (like DVDS). You can use the numeric key pad, << >>, play and stop only. You can still make a very 'professional looking menu system' but you can't use the arrow keys to select anything (just the keypad).

VCDImager is the best program for doing this, but it's a script file (XML) based program, so most people use a gui for it. Eithter TSCV (no longer supported but very nice for making motion menus) or VCDEasy (older verisons are freeware, newer verisons shareware).
