  1. I am planning to purchase a capture card to convert VHS to VCD/DVD format or even can transfer back digital video to analog one. Some of my friends recommended this product "Pinnacle Studio Deluxe Gold v8". I am using ASUS-P4B266 motherboard with 256MB DDR266 but have plan to add 512MB memory and a 40GB of HDD. Is there someone who can give me highlights on what capture card to use?

I suggest you check out the capture cards page. You'll find a ton of info there on the various models such as prices and many user comments.

I'd vote for either the Canopus ADVC-100 (DV AVI capture *or* MPEG-2 software encoding) or the ADS Instant DVD 2.0 (MPEG-2 capture/USB 2.0). Both are pricier than many other cards/devices but I think worth it.

Also, if you're going to get a new hard drive (80GB+) , I'd suggest something bigger. Not *necessary*, just more convenient.

  5. Is there any forum here that mentioned bugs encounter for those who uses it (Pinnacle Studio Deluxe). I found it much cheaper and when you look at their website it sounds like product specification is convincing.
