DAMNIT this sucks.... some dvd's play while others dont

i have 2 dvds - same brand - same write speed - but one of them plays but the other doesnt

and then i got another movie to burn but that doesnt work either

i get "playback prohibited by area limitation"

any ideas

Did you make a region free copy? That's probably your problem, your DVD Player won't play any disc made in any other region other than the one it was sold in. Example. Region 1: USA What software are you using to backup that disc?

Could also be cheap media.

You should give more info. Have you tried these in ur PC yet and do they work there? If you have the same problems then its not your dvd player. Could be the media, maybe a bad burn. Did you try to open the video ts folder using power dvd or similar media player? Who made liquid soap and why?

thats the thing, they work fine on my PC, its just the dvd player that they dont play - really wierd

i used the brand of dvd

i use alcohol to burn

smells like RCE..

you can either rip the dvd-r to an iso with dvd decrytper & then burn the iso.. dvd decypter will remove region protection & RCE..

or you can use dvd decypter to patch the the non-vob's to remove RCE.

i strongly doubt that your dvd player is prohibiting you from playing it because its a region free disc.. there are tons of commercial dvd's that are region free that play on all dvd players without a hitch..

It is a combination of the media your using & your particular player.
Try the disc that doesnt play in someone elses player & I bet it will most probably play alright. Just try & find the best discs for your player & stick to them. I have found some discs which are the cheapest in town ($33aus for 25, 4 x DVD-R) Laser & I havent had one disc play up on my players.
