I've tried backing up a few DVDs with DVD Shrink and I get an error that says: Data error (cyclic redundancy ckeck)
When I try with XCopy Platinum it says: Error occured reading sectorx
anyone knwo what could be the problem ?

Do you have a Skip Doctor? It is the device that buffs the surface of DVDs and removes scratches. It works for me when I get those errors.
