  1. hi, i hope someone out there can throw me a bone or a thread to follow.
i've just got into this back up game and been thru all the guides etc and hit a wall.
i have been using decrypter and shrink 3.1.4 with no problems, but when the discs starts to burn my problems begin.
i was using nero 6 and have tried the demo of 6.0.0.3 but each time my burn gets to about 50% the disc gets spat out, burn faled!!
i have coastered 6 discs so far and am at a loss at what to do!
do i need to mess about with settings and things?
thanx in advance for anything anyone offers.

If you are using DVDshrink you don't need DVDdecrypter except on certain difficult DVD's. I use a different method. Shrink ISO and DVDshrink, then DVDdecrypter only to burn. Nero has issues sometimes with some computers. If your problem is only with burning, you should try some different burning programs. May be something other than Nero.

  3. thanks redwudz i'll give it a try.
shrink seems to find that all my discs havee ccs, so thats why i started with decrypter.
i didn't realise you could burn with decrypter, derrr on my part.
can decrypter shrink to fit on 1 disc or does it spread the info onto 2 discs.
anyway, i'll have a play about with decrypter.
and i'll have a look for other burners.
just one more question, do burning softwares still have compatiblity probs (just send me a thread if there is one, ta).........
    thanks,

I see I had a typo in my reply. It should have said, Autoshrink ISO> DVDshrink>DVDdecrypter to burn. That suggestion was assuming problems with Nero. So far, I have never had ccs problems with DVDshrink. There are plenty of other problems that cause a failed burn, including buffer underrun, incompatible media, problematic software (Which some versions of Nero may be), and probably a bunch more I can't think of at the moment. You should be able to search this forum for more advice specifically on burning problems.
