I have a video in foreign language. I would like to record all coversation and convert then to text file, so I can translate it to english and then make subtitle.

    Any way to do this?

If you're talking about speech to text conversion, forget it. It's hard to do, the results are less than good, and it's expensive. It would probably be easier to find the script somewhere online and use that as your text.

What your looking for is called voice to text. You could try a search on those words. I don't believe any commercial products are geared to such a use. Certainly none would be advanced enough to recognize multiple voices with probable background noise and music that would be part of the sound.
The simplest form of this is speech recognition software where keyboard strokes are activated by spoken commands. It works but is limited in vocabulary and actions.
Bell Canada is using a similar software to activate select menu options although this does not convert to text it would be just as easy but then it probably only recognizes 10 or 20 key words.
Still in its infancy. it will probably come in time. Ask again in 5-10 years or so.

A little bit too ambitious task - just for now. If what you want is subtitlles, then look for subtitles not speech recognition.

I wouldn't say Voice recognition is still in infancy. It just went to kindergarten . There are some solutions around that do something useful already.

Main problem is the removal of background noise and discrimination of accents. Boston English vs Texas English vs my English are three different languages for most of the applications. Add some movie background noise and you're lost.

On the other hand, anyone interested on a fine Voice recognition tool, try Wav2Txt or Wav2MP3 or whatever, from www.research-lab.com.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

haven't been able to find any sub for this video. Anyway to find sub for a not-so-popular video from Norway? A board or somwhere? I search on Google, nothing.
