I received an e-mail to purchase a software package that will allow you to copy DVD's on to a standard CD_R or a CD-RW, using you standard computer hardware. The add I received did not give me very much information. Can any one give me additional info about this product, and how well it might work?

If it's one of those emails that says you can do it w/out a DVD rom, it's a fake. I've seen an ad that says that on eBay. Don't fall for it. YOU NEED A DVD ROM TO RIP DVD's.
Secondly, why pay for a software package when there's enough freeware to do the job and do it good? All the tools you need are here under the "tools" section, enough of it is free.
You can also get "rip packs" from other sites that bundle all the software you'll need for you. (I don't remember if there are any rip packs here). Doom9 has some packages.
