You could try encoding a small file with one setting and if it comes out jerky, then use the other setting.

Usually, PAL uses "UPPER/Top field first" and NTSC "LOWER/Bottom field first".

  3. Another option is to simply load the vid file into TMPGenc - using it's wizard. The 2nd wizard page will show you which field order was capped.

I think TMPGEnc is NOT really good at determinig this specific setting. I may be wrong though.

  5. Well I am using PAL signal, but ACEDVio have FW and analog inputs

If I capture using FW its probably lower field since it is a DV material and DV is almost always lower field.

I dont know field order for analog inputs, and if they are upper, that mean that I can not mix them?

    Any suggestion

  6. Many a time TMPGEnc has got the field order wrong for me, resulting in jerky videos. So for me it's just pot luck, but usually as I'm PAL it's A first.

I'm sorry I cannot be of more help here. I thought you were talking about analog video. I have no idea what the deal is with DV (have never used DV so far).

    Best regards...
