    Hi

    Can anyone out there help me?? Downloaded an avi file. Opened it with WMP V9 AND Power DVD V4 for playback-on both programs all i could get was the audio in the background. There was NO picture whatsoever.

    Any ideas on what the problem is? A friend mentioned something about Codec's. All i know is that they are to do with Compression and Decompression of files-That's it!

    Is it possible that i need to get updated Codec's? If so, where from and how do i upgrade codec's on the above programs?

    Please help anyone!! This is driving me mad!!

    Search Comp PM
    download GSPOT from the TOOLS section. It wil tell you which video codec the AVI is using.

    Download that codec and install.

    Your video should work.
