  1. Hi ppl,

I recently bought a couple of ex-rental DVD's from my local video hire shop and want to make backup's of them without the hardlock trailers (that play when I insert the disc) but I do want to keep the interactive menu's (extra's, scene selection etc).

I am using DVD Shrink 3.1.3 at the mo and if i do a full backup then the trailers are still on, where'as if i do a "re-author" i cant keep the menu's and just end up with the main film. Does ne 1 know how I can keep the menu's but not have the trailers at the start.

    Thx

I think DVDShrink can be made to remove any and all restrictions. My guess is on the original you can't fast forward or skip these trailers but at least you SHOULD be able to do that on the back-up even though they will still be there.

Thing is...i can skip these trailers on both the original and the "full backup" i made, but i just dont want the trailers at all, what i want is to put the disc in and have it load staight onto the main menu. Is there a way to do this m8...?

P.S. how do you get the "Desperate Jip wrote" thingy when i just get "Quote" coz it dont say who im Quoting..?

    Thx Fulci

Well I can't help you with the DVD thing but I can help you with the QUOTE thing ...

When you reply hit QUOTE instead of reply or do this (without the beginning " and ending "):

Use IFOEdit to strip out the trailers. Do a web search for IFOEdit and Derrow and find his manual for IFOEdit - It gives you step by step instructions on how to do this.
    If in doubt, Google it.
