Hi All,
I need help!.
[1]
My aim was to copy a Dvd into a Cd-R disc.
Iam having a combi Drive for reading & writing. So I ripped the Dvd using DvdDecryptor & the result was .Vob Files on my hard disc.(That was fast-30 minutes)
Then I used "AutoGK" software to convert it into a .avi file, the conversion took me 8 Hrs.
Could any one suggest a free software link for directly converting the "Dvd" content to .avi, which is FASTER & good.(I need only 1 audio language & ofcourse 1 subtitle of my preference to be copied as well).
[2]Now after all these work(Creating the .avi File).I decided to copy it to my Cd-R Disc,by using a "DirectCd" software. It told me to format the cd first,Which I did & now the cd freespace came down to 655mb & the .avi filesize is 700mb. So Iam not able to copy now. When I tried to copy the .avi file without formatting the CD, a message came that "The Drive is not Accessible".So thats why I formatted the CD.
What should I do to burn a Cd in this case.
Iam running on Windows Xp.
Could anyone suggest a free software to write the file into the Cd so that the freesize remains 700mb.
Would be nice if some one could answer these queries.
Thanks
Golden Girl

VCD???? you are making divx or xvid.
You could try fairuse 0.3 but I don't think it is that much faster. -
You should have used dvd2avi+tmpgenc to convert the vobs to mpeg1(VCD)it would have saved you a step then used the mpeg tool in tmpgenc to split the mpeg file into two parts. VCD runs about 10mb per minute so 120 minute movie =1200mb.
Now to put that movie on one cdr-requires that you use a template for tmpgenc as you are not creating a compliant VCD.KVCD-templates are in the tool section but will lower the quality considerably, and not all standalone players will accept/play non standard or xvcd.
My preference would be to load the avi into tmpgenc select the vcd template(NTSC-PAL) depending on where you live, encode to mpeg, cut with the mpeg tools cut/merge and burn to two cdr
Do a search for VCD easy 1.5 its the last free version and will create bin/cue files of your mpeg(s) and has a burning engine as well.Just shut up and listen dumbass
