Hello,
I have a GR-DVL520A by JVC, and used it to record some films. However, I'm not sure how to convert them into avi. There is a 1394 port on this camcoder, but the manual indicates that it is only used to transfer films to another DV device, such as another camcoder, not a computer. The manual says that I can only transfer still pictures to computer by USB. I tried to capture using Ulead Videostudio through a 1394 cable, but the software cannot find the device.
So I wonder if anyone has any experience with capturing film on this model? In general, if a camcoder can transfer films to another DV device by 1394, can I capture through 1394 as well?
Thanks
