  1. Are there any programs that would allow me to capture at a higher frame rate off a video camera? When models for the movies are shot. They are captured at a high speed so when they are played back at 30 fps it gives the model weight and makes it more realistic looking.

    Thanks for any help.

    to get what you want you have to shoot it at high speed -- like with one of these video cameras http://www.visiblesolutions.com/phantom.html

    these have a firewire output to capture directly from the camera (and has gigibyte network also built in) ....

    although the quality would bite the big one, what about webcams? are they limited in hardware on how many frames they capture, or software? is it possible to jack up the frame rate on a USB cheapcam?

    i think most web cams use CCEs elements -- which have a limited speed ..

    all high speed digtal cameras use CMOS elements instead ...

    prob they could be jacked up some ... but they use pretty cheap chips quality wise ...
