  1. I tried to make a back up of my dvd "The Bourne Identity".

Firstly i tried dvd xcopy xpress which went through its converting process and then threw up an error right near the end at about 97% and this has occurred with a few other attempts of backing up other dvds. Does anyone know why this is so? (is this some sort of copy protection?)

Then i tried it with "dvd shrink ver 3.1" i opened dvd shrink selected full disk copy and then opened the disc from my dvd writer drive and clicked backup.

It did its stuff and then i burnt the dvdr. The problem is that when i play it with power dvd (pretty recent version) it keeps throwing up the error code: 89020003 and stating "The Dvd disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation" and then shuts down. However if u use Power dvds "open media files" option and find the vob files and open them it plays fine.

Does anybody know y this is??

    Many thanks

A number of my backed up DVDs do this also. I have just accepted that this fallout from backing up DVDs. Only every now and again does PowerDVD put this error up, but I have found that every single DVd that has done this plays fine in a settop dvd player. I think this might just be one of those things that happens.
    If in doubt, Google it.
