  1. I captured the Super Bowl in mpeg2 on Sunday. The file ended up ~16.5 gigs. I put it through TMPGEnc Plus to see if I could get the file size down in order to fit in on one DVD. I used Super-VCD format and was able to successfully get it down to roughly 4.4 gigs. The problem, however, is that the audio was way out of sync.

I then ripped the audio stream only in TMPGEnc in .mp2 format. I ran the original file through TMPGEnc one more time, but used the .mp2 file as the audio source. The resulting file, however, is still way out of sync with the audio.

Is there some other way I can go about shrinking the file size while also keeping the audio in sync? Thanks.

  2. i just answered a quezzie a bit similar to this m8......

i think when you strip the sound from the Xvid to wav its best to use virtualdub i am told because this can tell you if there is a delay in the sound (so i am told....never used it myself)

what i do is load Xvid into TMPG.........

when you get to the screen that lets you choose 'other settings' click on this and click on 'source range'.

now choose a part where people are speaking and press the 'mark in' button.......the move the FFW arrow >> so its 1 min ahead and press the 'mark out' button.

now you have set a range for testing the sync.

on that same screen is an audio correct setting.........try -400 and encode it at that setting.

play back clip to see if sound is in sync.

if not add or subtract from -400 to get it right.

it takes less than a min for each try.

when you have the correct delay set make sure you select the full frames/range again and encode.

    hope this helps m8
