  1. It is available for 99 USD at bestbuy

Has anyone has any experience on this player?
How is it compared to other Liteon players?
    Thanks in advance.

  2. From what I've read on different forums (no personal experience) users complain - some say it does not play 70% of their files. Also not even a hint of firmware upgrades on Polaroid site. Also not serviced by Polaroid, when people call Polaroid refers to a different company.
Ironically, www.divx.com gave it "divx certification". Which means of course that it probably does not play XVID files. The player is based on ESS-Vibrato chip. The good thing: it is sold by Best Buy so you can return it if you don't like it.

Liteon players are based on Sigma 8500 chipset which is entirely different from ESS Vibrato chipset. Check the forums on www.divx.com (go to hardware forum) www.avsforum.com (go to dvd-players forum),
    www.hometheaterspot.com and others.

  3. Thanks for the feedback..
Looks like I will have to wait for somemore time for other major manufacturers make Divx players. Right now most of them have inconsistent performances. Maybe that is due to that fact there are several variations of divx files and umpteen formats..

That link Doesn't say Divx anywhere that I can find. It does say DVI, but if it says Divx then I'm missing it.

In the specs it says it plays mpeg4 files, is that not divx?
