  1. I have a folder with a movie in it. When you open the folder there are about 20 small separate files entitled something like DVDrip.xvid-deity
(sorry about the name, I am on a different computer right now) I have an XVID codec which plays other movies. I have also download the AVICodec tool that tells you which codecs are needed to play certain files. It crashed when I try to see what codecs I need for this film. I also downloaded the VLA player which is supposed to play everything and it doesn't recognize this fle. So if anyone could answer the following it would be greatly appreciated.
    A) What is XVID-deity and why is the movie broken into multiple small files?
B)How the heck do I get this thing in a format that I can play if nothing knows what it is?
C)Is there a way to join all of these files into one?

  3. I have read alot of the guides and still do not have an understanding for why these files are broken into multiple sections and won't play. Alot of the forums recommended using that AVICodec tool to indentify the codecs needed and then go out an get them. How can this be done if the files aren't recognized? I will try that player tonight to see if that helps but if anyone else has any advice I would love to hear it. I will also continue to search through the forums to pinpoint this issue as I wait for someone elses response.

  4. You need to unrar (unzip) dvd rip which is probably downloaded over internet (newsgroups, file-sharing, IRC). Install Winrar software and then uncompress files.
