hi i am using the free edition of avg anti virus and a few days ago i found the windows update virus on my system. i have moved it to the avg virus vault as was suggested buy the avg program. my only concern now is leaving it there. it is in the vault and avg cannot heal it, so what do i do? do i just leave it? do i have to download a removal tool for it or what?
the virus is update12.js which hijacks the start page of your browser.

Delete the folder $virusvault$ from your hard drive.

but that folder is used by the avg anti virus is it not? if i delete that the program may not work again.

Wrong.
Delete the folder.
If AVG scans and finds another virus it cannot heal, it will create another vault and move the file(s) there, and you can delete it again, and again, and again...Cheers, Jim
