  1. What is HQVCD and how can I burn one. I suppose HQ is an acronym for "High-Quality". I saw this term in VCDComposer, right when you open VCDComposer you see this pulldown menu with the title VCD type, I pulled it down and it said in order:
    VCD 1.1
    VCD 2.0
    SVCD 1.0
    HQVCD 1.0

    I just want some info on other types of VCD besides the one mos commonly used at this site (VCD, SVCD, XVCD, XSVCD...)

    I'm pretty sure an HQVCD is an XSVCD with 352x480/576 resolution MPEG2. I dont know if it supports the anamorphic flag or uses 48kHz sampled audio. Almost all, if not all, players that support SVCD unofficially support HQVCD.

  3. HQVCD is was one of the putative standards before the final SVCD specs were ratified.

    I believe that the HQVCD option in VCDImager is still under the bracket of "experimental" so use at your own risk...

  4. actually HQVCD1.0 is just a minor variant on the SVCD1.0...
    I've just implemented it, since it was defined in the IEC62107 specs; although there wasn't written much about it, except that's it provided for compatibility with existing devices in the market... or something like that;
    anyway, it's not experimental at all; the only thing experimental is the VCD1.0 support as I don't have enough information for it...
