    Hi clactongirl2002,

You need to provide more details, like:

    1. What is the format of the original file (i.e. AVI)?
    2. If it is AVI, use GSpot or AVICodec to get details of the file and post those.
    3. If it's not AVI, try to provide any other info (is it MPEG1 or 2 etc.).
    4. Are you using TMPGEnc's wizard or your own settings? If the latter, what settings?
    5. What's the full error message?
    6. How's the seaside in sunny(?) Essex?

Download either / both of those apps that are highlighted (they're both freeware I think) and post screen prints of the info.

    Oh, and you forgot:

    Hi clactongirl2002,

Near enough exactly the same as someone else. See:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=203908&highlight=

...except their AVI is an Xvid, whereas yours is a Divx. But you've both got MP3 audio - probably the cause of the problem.

There's info in the link above that should (hopefully) do the trick...

P.S. Weather's the same in Euston too...

    Hi clactongirl2002,

If you click on (the highlighted) VirtualDub, it'll take you to the page on the site with the info, comments etc. about it. It also has a list of guides that use VirtualDub. Scan down and you'll see "How to convert the audio in a video to WAV (or MP3)". That'll take you to the link below:

    https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=101

This link gives a brief summary of the guide, and the link to it. It may not be exactly what you need, but should point you very much in the right direction.

Please remember to rate the guide as this has recently been introduced by Baldrick and it'd be useful if people used it. It'll be useful for people in future too...

    Good luck.
