  1. Hi all. I might just be able to get my hands on a DVD Recorder in the next week from a friend of a friend who is going overseas for 6 months. I have two quick questions to ask :

    (1) Can you edit out commericals with the DVD Recorder by pausing it during commericals? I've seen on some forums the "issue" of editing with DVD Recorders compared to PC Capture, but can you do it this way if you are willing to sit and watch what you are recording (it will be from VHS.)

    (2) Do I need to buy a different type of blank DVD to make sure it is rewritable, or are all blank DVD's rewritable and there is an option of the recorder to make it rewritable or to finalize it. Does that make any sense? I hope so!

    Thanks heaps.

  2. Do you know which recorder it is ?

    1. I would say yes.

    2. You use same rewritable in DVD Recorders as in PC. Be aware of DVD-RW, DVD+RW and DVD-RAM format issue.

    Andy,
I'm no expert, but name the player/recorder and these guys can help you more.

basically Ram, -RW and +RW are rewritable,
but no one accomodates them all.
Panasonic uses ram, pioneer uses -RW, Phillips and many others use +RW. Sony I think uses +/- RW
    God Bless

  4. Not at this stage. Should hopefully be finding out more tonight actually. Will some DVD Recorders do these things but not others?
