  1. I have a Ritech 4000 set top dvd player that supports Divx. I am very happy with it. However, I have audio problems with divx files I split. I cannot use Virtualdub asi get the dreaded 'DX50' error. I use Advanced AVi splitter. This package splits the files well. My "properties" tab shows the audio intact and audio from the split file plays on my computer just fine. However, split file audio will _not_ play on my Ritech. Could the Lame codec be the cause of this? The Ritech will play unsplit Lame files.

    Any help appreciated.

Looks like you need one of the 5.0 DivX codecs. Install it and use the Virtual Dun mod program.

  3. I'm using 5.11 pro. Virtual Dub just gives me the "unknown compressor" error. I have tried reinstalling everything and upadating all software. It just will not work for me with 5.11. I just get the "unknown compressor" message, or a warning about an invalid codec.

Others seem to have this problem, but some do not. I wish I knew the difference.
