  1. I have a client who has a presentation on DVD. It is not copyrighted. It is his own presentation that he had put together. He would like to put clips of the DVD on his website. He does not have any original files. All he has is the DVD. Is there a way to put the DVD in my DVD drive on my computer and somehow capture the video and save it in a format that I can then play on the web on his website? What is the best way to go about this? I know I can rip the VOB files using DVDDecrypter, but is there a way to then convert the files into a web useable format? Is there an easier way? Some kind of capture software that can capture the video as it plays in my DVD drive? THANKS.

if its for web -- best formats would be in either Quicktime or WMV9 format ..

just use squeeze or vegas or procorder to compress for web in one of the above formats ... or offer a choice ... other formats like DiVX or XVID are not web formats (if you want to have a happy customeer) ..

the above apps all have the right templates you would need as for resizng and such ...

if the audio on your dvd is in ac3 format - you will have to convert it wav first ..

  3. Do those programs you suggested capture the video from the DVD as its playing or do those programs deal with VOB files?

  5. So I still need to use DVDDecrypter FIRST to extract the VOB files and the audio from the DVD right? Then any of these three programs can take the VOB file and the audio file and convert it to Windows Media or Quicktime?

you dont even need DVDDecrypter just drop the vobs into any of the above apps -- but if the audio is ac3 , you will need to demux it (dvd2avi) and convert it to wav (besweet) first

you could use DVDDecrypter and stream rip the audio and video into single streams as an option
