Hi all,
I have been having some major probs with my pc recently when trying to backup a backup.
For some reason I am unable to rip certain backups. I have tried using Nero, DVD Decryptor, Smart ripper, Instant Copy etc and have had no luck. They all keep erroring thus I cannot rip the entire dvd.
In smartripper I noticed that it only picks up 1 chapter when there are about 20 on the dvd- it also gives me the following message,
Some files are still locked - try to unlock with a player.
Do you think my drives are knackered?

What program were they burned with?
I've never had any problems backing up a back up that I burned with DVD Decrypter but I have read several posts about people having those issues with discs burn with DVD X Copy.
Will that back ups play? - are they scratched or dirty?
One thing you can try is to open WinDVD or PowerDVD, let the DVD start, stop it or pause it...I can't remember, then rip it with Decrypter. But I doubt you have to do that, they are backed up copies, they aren't encrypted and they don't have any protection on them (or they shouldn't).
Are you ripping in the ROM or RW drive? Sometimes I have errors ripping from the ROM drive, but never from the RW drive.
What mode are you trying to rip in with Decrypter? I would try a different mode. I mean if they are already backed up, you are probably using ISO read mode. I would try file mode...if ISO read mode isn't working. Also do you have enough hard drive space for it?
Don't really know, that is an odd problem....
