  1. Hi everyone

i'm currently trying to extract the audio to a .wav file with VirtualDub since the avi is encoded with vbr.
The problem i have is that after a few mintues it brings up the following error :

"ACM reported error on audio decompress (200)"

is there anything i can do to stop this since after this error is produced it stops extracting.

    thanks for any help

  2. You could try extractint the audio in goldwave.

Or you could extract it with vdub using direct stream copy and then convert it to wav with goldwave or BeSweet.

  3. thanks that actually worked perfectly. Unfortunately i now have a problem with the video.

Rather than make a new topic maybe you can help me again

Using the source range in tmpengc i'm making two files so it can go onto 2 vcds. But for some reason on the second one about half way through the video just goes black and leaves only the audio.
I've checked the original video and it works perfeclty all the way through it's just during the encoding that the video goes black

Don't suppose you can help me once more oh wise one

With what? If by playing it using WMP or other AVI player on your computer, that fact says nothing about the integrity of the AVI. Scan for bad frames using VirtualDub mp3 Freeze and remove them if found (guide left).
