  1. Well I have about a 3 minute mpg movie file that i just got done caputuring. The capture is great, nothing wrong with it. But when I go to edit it and take out parts I do not need and then complie it or render it, the finished product turns out very badly, very slow and also looks like many frames are dropped out. Anyways i was wondering how I can fix this? Also I was downloading stuff on Kazaa, could this effect the quality? Let me know, thanks.

I was downloaded from the matrix. but they told me I was found under
a cabbage leaf in the garden. I'm still looking for the Oracle to find
    out for sure.

::Cough cough:: of course you were downloading public domain files right?

Anyway, MPEG is not the good format to use in Premiere. AVI is best for editing (this goes for a lot of different video editors). I would suggest converting the MPEG to an AVI file first. As far as choppyness goes/poor quality/etc... this could be because Premiere doesn't like the MPEG file. Depending on what size you render the file to be, it might not display ok on your computer, but might display fine on a TV. For example, I was exporting some movies as 720x480, and they barely played on my computer (very very choppy, looked like dropped frames, etc...), but when sent to tape and played on a TV, it played ok.

    Hope this helped a little.

    Hi nutt318,

I've not used it myself coz I edit AVI then produce an MPG from that. But I've read on numerous occassions that Womble MPEG VCR seems to be able to edit MPG without any problems.
