The backup DVD-Rs I'm making are working well on my DVD player, except the center channel (Dolby 5.1) randomly goes silent. Always happens at the beginning of a chapter. Usually if I skip back and forth a few chapters it will come back on and play fine for a while. Commercial DVDs never give me this problem on my DVD player or surround sound system.
I'm using DVDBackup 1.3 and DVD2oneX 1.2 on a Mac. Toast 6 Titanium to burn. I always keep the 5.1 channel audio tracks and usually the 2ch as well. 2ch tracks work fine, the problem is always with the 5.1ch. I've used 3 different brands of DVD-Rs and the problem persists with all of them. (TDK, Memorex, & cheap Starlogic)
burner: Sony DVD RW DW-U10A
player: Panasonic DVD-F85
The Dolby 5.1 decoder is built into the Panasonic player. I guess it could be a compatiblity issue with the decoder. Or are there any other possibilities??? I'm pretty new at this.
