  1. i've got a movie which is in 4 (mpg) parts. i've encoded all parts to DVD mpg's.
the last 3 parts encoded with no problems but the first part has about a 3 sec audio synch proplem.
i use main concept encoder, and out perhaps 70 movies this has only happened once before and i could'nt be arsed fixing it.
i'm sure i tried goldwave to get seperate audio to encode and same problem happened.
why does audio synch happen when encoding?
what is the best plan of action in this situation?
should i do something before i encode or do something with the encoded file?
no timewasters plz only ppl that know what they are talking about! lol

  2. i suppose my question was lazy, probably coz i was taking advantage of the new declasification of cannabis laws here.
anyway i read it might help to cut a bit off the movie before encoding.
i was able to chop a min off mpg before movie started and when i encoded it there was no audio sync problem

can anyone explain why this seems to do the trick?
as the mpg played fine before encoding why did the audio sync problem arise after encoding?

  3. i might as well keep this thread going as no one else is lol

ok so i fixed problem by chopping a bit off start of film but i thought to myself i could'nt do that if it was second mpg.

so i've being trying to find out other ways of fixing audio sync problems and it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
when i search audio sync there are 8000 threads on it but only 1 guide and thats for gradualy out of sync not the type that is constantly out of sync.

i've read the first 100 threads and im still in the dark

i think out of sync may have to do with bad frames but i'm not sure

think i'll have to try another web site for answers for the first time

Are you talking about clips you encoded from an analog source such as VHS?

If so, some encoders produce bad files that play fine but don't encode well, resulting in lip synch problems.

  6. after 2 days searching for answers i finally found one

there seems to be dozens of ways to correct audio sync problems most of which are confusing to say the least.

would'nt it be great if there was an app that as your movie was playing u could just press a button to get it in sync before your eyes? unfortunately i don't think one exists.

however the easiest way i have found was from Ziffelpig which involves using womble.
demultiplex then on multiplex window there is an option to synchronize audio and video

it can be used on encoded movie so there is no need for re-encoding.
and as i use womble for joining and cutting anyway it's ideal
