Hey...I've got a couple questions about burning speeds.
First.......I see all over the place about people burning 2x and 4x media at 8x. Has anyone had any problems with this? Is it easier to burn a coaster? I think of my 24x CD-R's that I burn at 36x and 48x.....but it just seems dangerous to burn a DVD at a faster speed than rated....maybe I'm just being extra cautious because of the price. Am I being silly? I just got an 8x burner and I'd love to get my moneys worth.
Also, what program do y'all use to burn at these speeds. I use DVD Decrypter and I have it set at MAX burning speed.....so it will ALWAYS burn at the speed that it is rated. Do i have to use a different program to burn my ISOs? Nero? CopyToDVD? Ect....
Currently burning Fuji and TKD +R......don't have the media code in front of me though.
Thanks all.

It is considered dangerous. At least compatibility will suffer.
No program burns faster than burner allows to burn given media i.e. firmware upgrade (hack actually) is needed.
