0000PPPSSS - Nero/me forgot to finalize the disc

Hi guys.

Nero reset its settings to default, and as such, I burnt 3 DVD movies on multisession.

So, as the disc is still open, they will not play on my DVD player.

I have tried finalize.exe which detects they are open, and says performing close (but it dosent actually work), its still open. [I think its an old prog]

I also tried dvd decrypter, but on clicking close\disc (or session or track) then it produces an error message (tested on win2k and winxp)


so chaps, any ideas?

Since when did Nero have THAT arrangement as default ?!

Never mind, can you not finalise the disc in Nero ? I know you can with a data disc, but I've never had the need to try it with a DVD Video.

If the worst comes to the worst, you might just have acquired some shiny drinks coasters and have to redo them.

Any ideas? Move your files back onto your hard drive, then use NERO's DVD-Video template to create your DVDs. Your copy of NERO is old? How old? Why haven't you been keeping up with the updates?

well, it does appear to be default to start a multisession on pressing "New".

Anyway, on dvd video, I can not "continue" the "multisession" in order to close it. Yes it does work on standard data fine.

My drive (NEC-ND 1300A) wont read the disc as its open, so I cant copy the stuff back to the HD.

The version I am using is the pre-updated Nero 6 Ultra.


I really need some kind of 3rd part prog to simply close the session.

There's your answer - "New" makes a DATA disc by default. The DVD Video template should work fine - I have never had any problems with it.

Yea, I have always hit new\data disc

dragged the video and data dir's that x-copy plat produced and selected burn (none multi session)



Out of interest, what is the difference between writing the files to a "data" disc in this way, as apposed to using the video template?
