sorting images numerically in Premiere

Hope this the correct forum for these questions. As always I search before I ask and I know this info is out there but can't find it. I believe the solution is easy but here goes. Sorry if this is a stupid question but...I am making a slide show in Premiere 6.0 LE. I have 245 photos numbered 1.bmp to 245.bmp. when I automate to timeline they appear as 1.bmp,10.bmp,100.bmp and so on instead of 1.bmp,2.bmp,3.bmp,etc. How can I get them to appear as 1,2,3,etc? Also some of my bmp's turn black on the timeline but when I click on them they are fine. Anyone know why this is happening? Lastly I want to make a DVD of aforementioned slide show and then copy it to videotape. Can this be done by connecting RCA composites out of the DVD player into the input of VCR? Thanks a bunch. Sorry for too many questions. Always learning because of you. Ya'll are the best!

name them 001 002 003 ... 010 011 012 013....099 100 101.

and, yeah rca out of dvd, in to vcr. play/record. should work fine.

AAAAHHHHH!!!!HHHHHAAAAA!!!! And the genius's name is tito13kfm! Can't thank you enough. I knew that the solution was simple. But only if you know the answer...if you don't it's like learning algebra from someone who speaks only Chinese. And he (tito13kfm) quotes Groucho to boot. What could be better. Thanks again. Now if I could just find out why some of my bmp's turn completely black in Premiere.....Oh well I had better not push it.

Hey, just read a series of posts on the "black" pics in Premiere. Looks like a lot of hoopla to me. Apparently it's a problem in 6.0 but fixed in 7.0 so may go that route. I have 245 photos in this project with too many turning black for me to go and try and fix or convert or whatever.
