  1. Hello everybody!
There's one thing that i'm very keen to learn and i swear i've been trying but i dont seem to get it very well and that's why i'm asking for some of ur help. From a wav file extracted using virtualdub i need to create 6 mono waves, one for each channel of a surround system and then merge them all together and create an AC3 file surround stereo so then i can mux with the encoded video and get a dvd playing surround on my standalone dvd player at home... Maybe what i'm gonna ask is too much but could anyone please show mw how to do this, a guide maybe and what tools do i have to use... Thanks very much

unless you have access to the original discreet sound files, you can't recreate surround sound.

the only thing you will end up with is using a ton of data space for stereo audio duplicated throughout the speaker system...

the point of surround / 5.1 is that it has different components of the sound coming from different speakers - not the same sound coming from all 6.

  3. An easy way for making wav to ac3 5.1 is to extract the wav from the movie, then use maven3d to make the ac3. Working wery good, and makes 6 chnnels with different start/stopp time, just like normal suround.
