  1. Hi,
Is there software that can continue previously failed
burning, rather than having to waste the media and
    restart the burning?

Thats what dvd-rw was invented for first test with a rw if it works then use a dvd- + after and problem solved. And finally there is no way to rescue that dvd after it starts burning..

  3. Sometimes it won't help to try on dvd-rw first, for example,
if the pc hang or reboot or if I accidentally start another program
that try to access the DVD writter, e.g. Ulead Movie Factory.

Actually my question is more a technical one, is it technically
impossible to continue the burning after failure?. Is it hardware
    limitation?

  4. It's impossible because your writer will not see the disc because it wasn't finalized.I've been able to reuse a DVD+RW after a failed finalization(I had a power failure) but I could only use it for PC use,my DVD player wouldn't recognize it anymore.
