Dear all I work as a surgeon and I do have a lot of operation on VHS films that I need to keep unedited. I need a program that will capture directly MPEG1 and divide automaticaly the captured movie into 640MB files so that i can back up them on CDs.

Why mpeg1? Why on CDs??
I think you want to save those VHS tapes in good quality. My suggestion would be encode in mpeg2 and save them onto DVDs. The easiest way is a standalone dvd recorder. Panasonic DMR-E100H or DMR-E80H.
