I have been using Studio 8 for a while now outputting the edited video to tape. Having bought a DVD writer I want to burn it to a DVD. After many hours trying and contacting the pinnacle help desk I still can't create a disk.

I can create an AVI file what other software would I need to use to get it from the AVI file stage to a DVD ? I was looking at TMPGEnc Plus but then do I also need the authouring software as well ? It all starts adding up. Unless any anyone out there can get my pinnacle software working.

  2. There's a lot of freeware that oculd do the job for you, you just have to look! I wonder if you can frameserve from pinnacle studio....you might want to try MainConcept as it is much faster encoder.
My AVI -> Any Format Guide is available here.
My Frame Resize Calculator (enhanced for Virtualdub) is available here

  3. If you wanna go totally free route:
BBmpeg for the video into mpeg2
ffmpeg or ffmpeggui for the wav to ac3 (convert your dv audio into wav first)
IFoedit can mux it all and make a dvd foler ready for burning.

Topay the least and get easier method, tmpgenc plus, and tmpgenc DVD author with AC3 encoding plugin.
